Help & answers

Questions, answered.

Everything worth knowing about Salt Splash and how we do things. If something's missing, we'd rather you asked than guessed.

The product

What is Salt Splash?+

A gentle no-rinse spray for face and body. Reach for it after sweat, heat, travel, shaving, a shower or whenever skin needs looking after. Two ingredients, nothing you need to wash off.

What is hypochlorous acid?+

Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a molecule your body naturally produces as part of its defence system. Clever scientists figured out how to make it outside the body too. The HOCl in Salt Splash is formed from water and salt through electrolysis, a process that passes an electrical current through salt water. The ingredients may be simple. Formulating them at a skin-friendly pH of 5.0 to 6.5 is where the serious chemistry comes in. The result is a skin-friendly acid with a surprisingly long list of uses and benefits.

Why does it smell like pool water?+

That faint, clean, pool-like note is completely normal. It comes naturally from the hypochlorous acid and fades as the spray dries. No added fragrance.

What is actually in it?+

Two things: Aqua (Water) and Hypochlorous Acid. No added fragrance, no unnecessary actives, no filler.

Using it

How do I use it?+

Spray directly onto the skin and let it dry completely. There is no need to rinse or wipe it off.

Where does Salt Splash fit in my skincare routine?+

Use it after cleansing and before serums, moisturiser or sunscreen. Mist evenly over your face and allow it to dry completely before continuing with your routine.

Avoid layering it directly with vitamin C, AHAs, BHAs, retinoids or benzoyl peroxide. Use Salt Splash and these active ingredients at different times of the day.

You can also use it on its own after sweat, heat or travel. No rinsing required.

Who is it for?+

Every body. Salt Splash is made for faces, bodies and sensitive skin of all ages. Its two-ingredient, fragrance-free formula is gentle enough for the whole household.

What can I use it for?+

Use it for breakout-prone skin, flare-ups, rashes, cuts and scrapes, minor burns, sunburn, bug bites and more.

When should I reach for it?+

After workouts, sport, heat, shaving, waxing, swimming, travel, long flights, big nights, sun, skin treatments, post-procedure and fresh ink. Any moment skin needs a reset rather than a full routine.

The details

Where is it made?+

Aotearoa New Zealand, from New Zealand water and hypochlorous acid. Its two-ingredient formula is produced using carefully controlled technology to achieve the precise concentration, pH and stability required for skin.

How should I store it?+

Keep it somewhere out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Hypochlorous acid is happiest cool and in the dark, which keeps it working as intended for as long as possible.
