Skin has a whole ecosystem
Your skin is naturally home to bacteria. Most are harmless, and some help protect it. But unwanted bacteria can contribute to breakouts, body odour and problems when skin is broken or recovering.
Salt Splash gently cleanses skin to help keep unwanted bacteria in check.
Kinds of bacteria live on healthy skin. Most are harmless, and some help look after it.*
Of surveyed women aged 25–45 with facial acne reported sweating as a trigger for their breakouts.**
Of body odour is the sweat itself. The smell is bacteria breaking sweat down on your skin.***
Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a molecule your body naturally produces as part of its defence system. Clever scientists figured out how to make it outside the body too.
The HOCl in Salt Splash is formed from water and salt through electrolysis, a process that passes an electrical current through salt water.
The ingredients may be simple. Formulating them at a skin-friendly pH of 5.0 to 6.5 is where the serious chemistry comes in. The result is a skin-friendly acid with a surprisingly long list of uses and benefits.
Yes. Use it after cleansing, before anything else. Spray onto skin, let it dry, then carry on with your moisturiser or SPF as usual. No rinsing and no wiping.
Don’t layer it directly with vitamin C, AHAs or BHAs. Those actives and hypochlorous acid cancel each other out, so you lose the benefit of both. Use Salt Splash at the other end of the day, or leave a good gap between them.
It also works on its own, anywhere, any time your skin needs it. On the days a full routine isn’t happening, Salt Splash on its own is enough.
That faint, clean, pool-like note is completely normal. It comes naturally from the hypochlorous acid and fades as the spray dries. No added fragrance. Nothing to worry about.
Made and bottled in Aotearoa New Zealand using pure New Zealand water. Salt Splash contains just two ingredients, water and hypochlorous acid. Carefully controlled technology gives it the precise concentration, skin friendly pH and stability required for skin.
